The Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen - South Tyrol/Südtirol has had its own weather service since 1996. At the outset private and public customers were, during the working week, provided once a day with weather information as well as a weather forecast for the next 3-4 days. For some years now the weather service team has consisted of three meteorologists and can now provide weather information 365 days a year.
The Fire and Civil Defence Department of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano - South Tyrol offers an optimal structure, with three services working together closely in most of the areas involved, in particular the hydrological service, the avalanche warning service and the weather service. These three services can together make use of such resources as an extensive measuring network, a weather radar on the top of the Gantkofel mountain and European-wide weather information.
These conditions ensure that customers can receive optimum weather forecasts, with all of the required weather information provided by other public bodies. If you wish to contact us regarding special products or information, you can reach us via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will also be pleased to receive information and suggestions from customers and we are always open to constructive criticism.
